Wilmslow house

Our creative clients approached Dempsey + Gannon with a vision of adapting their stunning Victorian, semi detached home to suit their modern lifestyles. The house needed to provide spaces for work, open plan family life and, as avid fans of cinema, our clients wanted a film snug that could be shut off from the outside world.

The proposal was to create a plan around a central ‘cinema room’ with a study / studio positioned of the front of the house and an open plan family room to the the rear. A clever use of fitted joinery items help to maximise the space and carve out spaces for quite contemplation, including for a reading nook. A large sliding door to the rear helps connect the family to the garden.
