‘’Oak House is located in the Colne Valley, with the architect, client, and contractor all living within one mile of each other.

The 1930s detached house has been transformed into a light, bright, and functional living space for a young family. The restaurant owner clients wanted plenty of space in which to cook and entertain. The original house was cut off at the rear, so creating a connection from the home’s garden through to the green valley beyond was crucial.

Previously isolated rooms have been opened up to create interlinking living areas. A natural and tactile material palette of oak, clay plaster, and terracotta tiles have been used throughout to complement existing timber floorboards and the greenery of the surroundings.’’

That being said, the best bits happened in the happening.
